Litterateurs Should Put Pressure On Politicians: Raj Thackeray
Pune, 7th October 2024: Maharashtra has become a circus today. In the field of politics, there is no restriction on the language spoken at present. In such a situation, litterateurs should pressure the politicians with their valuable words and bring justice, said Raj Thackeray, president of Maharashtra Navnirman Sena. By asking the politicians to listen to the views of the litterateurs in the literary conferences and not to speak, the Marathi language seemed to be entrenched in the minds of the Marathi litterateurs of the past.
The logo of the 98th Akhil Bharatiya Marathi Sahitya Sammelan organized by Akhil Bharatiya Sahitya Mahamandal and Sarhad, Pune was unveiled today (7th October). Raj Thackeray was speaking at that time. The event was organised by Sarhad, Pune at Maharashtra Sahitya Parishad. The emblem is in the form of Rajmudra and pen, which represents the identity of Maharashtra. Akhil Bharatiya Marathi Sahitya Sammelan will be held from February 21 to 23, 2025 in Delhi. Sanjay Nahar, President of Sarhad Pune, Working President of Maharshtra Sahitya Parishad Prof. Milind Joshi, Sunita Raje Pawar, Vinod Kulkarni, former presidents of Sahitya Sammelan Dr. Sadanand More, Shreepal Sabnis, Lakshmikant Deshmukh, Treasurer of Sahitya Mahamandal Prakash Page, Gurayya Swami, Dr. Shailesh Pagariya and others were present on the stage.
“We have been saying that Maharashtra is giving direction to the country, but at present the language of politics in Maharashtra has gone down to the lowest level. In such a situation, litterateurs need to create a social movement. Raj Thackeray also appealed to the litterateurs to speak with authority without thinking of being trolled.
In the introduction, Prof. Milind Joshi said, “Maharashtra Sahitya Parishad is being seen as an organisation with ideological openness, taking a liberal stand. In its 119 years of existence, the Maharashtra Sahitya Parishad has been working for the preservation and promotion of Marathi language and has been supporting the writers.” He also informed about the efforts made through the conference to get the status of classical language to Marathi.
Sanjay Nahar said, “People with conflicting views come together in Maharashtra Sahitya Parishad and work with the ability to change the direction of the society. It is a matter of happiness that Raj Thackeray is unveiling the logo in the building of the Sahitya Parishad, which takes the stance that the opposition is not to be considered an enemy. Raj Thackeray is always at the forefront when it comes to the issue of Marathi identity. “Even today, Marathi people are desperate to capture Delhi,” he said.
Prasad Gawli and former presidents of the Marathi Sahitya Sammelan were felicitated by Raj Thackeray on the occasion. The programme was presided over by Dr. Vandana Chavan and Leshpal Jawalage rendered the vote of thanks.
