Lohgaon Land Fraud: Five Arrested for Allegedly Cheating Builder of Rs 5.70 Crore Through Illegal Land Sale
Lohegaon, 31st July 2026: Lohgaon Police have arrested five persons for allegedly cheating a Pune-based builder of ₹5.70 crore by illegally selling a portion of disputed land without the owner’s consent, despite the matter being pending before a court.
The complaint was filed by Ravindra Naupatlal Sakla (63), a resident of Ghorpadi and a builder, at Lohgaon Police Station.
Based on his complaint, police have registered a case against Subhash Uttamchand Dugad, Rajendra Uttamchand Dugad (both residents of Bibwewadi), Sandesh Ashok Bhansali (resident of Khed), Sheikh Umar Latif Inamdar, Mehboob Abdul Gaffar Sheikh, and Bhaskar Reddy Narayan Kallari Reddy (resident of Vadgaon). Five of the accused have been arrested.
According to police, the alleged offence took place between 2010 and September 2025 and pertains to 48 Are of land from Survey No. 163, Hissa No. 8/1A/2, forming part of a total land parcel measuring 1 hectare and 8 Are at Lohgaon. The transactions were allegedly executed through various government Sub-Registrar offices.
Police said the complainant owns the land in question, and a civil dispute regarding its possession is already pending before a court. Despite the ongoing litigation, the accused allegedly conspired to execute sale transactions among themselves without obtaining the complainant’s consent. They allegedly accepted ₹5.70 crore through these transactions, causing wrongful financial loss to the complainant.
Lohgaon Police have registered a case of cheating and related offences. Assistant Police Inspector Santosh Shinde is conducting further investigation into the case.
