Pune, 22nd April 2024: In a commendable effort to uphold the democratic spirit and ensure equal participation in the electoral process, authorities in Pune have taken proactive steps to facilitate voting in remote polling station areas with minimal voter turnout.

Led by Bhor Assistant Returning Officer, Rajendra Kachre, officials visited the Burudmal area of Bhor taluka, which boasts the lowest number of voters in the district, to distribute vital voting information slips and provide essential guidance to residents.

Situated in the secluded backdrop near the Bhatghar dam, the Burudmal polling station is nestled amidst picturesque hills, presenting logistical challenges for voter engagement. Despite the geographical isolation, Kachre and his team embarked on a mission to empower the 41 eligible voters, comprising 21 men and 20 women, in this remote locality.

Today, Kachre and his colleagues personally distributed voter information slips to each voter, meticulously outlining the voting process and highlighting the facilities available at the polling station. To ensure seamless access to the ballot, a dedicated polling station will be established at the Zilla Parishad primary school, enabling residents to exercise their constitutional rights without impediments.

One resident, 89-year-old Baburao Akhade, stands as a testament to unwavering civic duty, having faithfully cast his vote in every election since 1960. Meeting with Kachre, Akhade reaffirmed his commitment to participating in the electoral process, underscoring the enduring importance of civic engagement.

In light of Akhade’s exemplary dedication, Kachre issued a heartfelt appeal to new voters, urging them to embrace their civic responsibility and commemorate the essence of democracy by following Akhade’s noble example.

As the nation gears up for another electoral milestone, Kachre’s message resonates, emphasizing the pivotal role each citizen plays in shaping the democratic landscape.
