Lonavala Rural Police Launch 24/7 Helpline For Tourist Safety
Lonavala, 11th April 2025: To enhance safety for visitors in the Lonavala region, the Lonavala Rural Police Station has introduced a dedicated helpline number for tourists. Senior Police Inspector Kishor Dhumal has urged all tourists visiting the area to save the number on their phones to ensure quick access to police assistance in case of emergencies.
Tourist Helpline Number: 9146032971
This helpline will be operational 24 hours a day and is intended to offer immediate support to tourists across various popular destinations under the jurisdiction of the Lonavala Rural Police. These sites include Lion’s Point, Pavana Dam, Bhaje Caves, Bhaje Waterfall, Lohagad Fort, Visapur Fort, Karla Caves, and the Ekvira Devi Temple—areas that attract heavy footfall throughout the year.
Many of these locations are situated in hilly terrain with deep valleys, making them potentially hazardous, especially during monsoons or peak tourist seasons. The newly launched helpline aims to ensure timely police assistance in such situations.
Local residents and businesses operating near tourist spots have also been encouraged to save the number and use it to report emergencies or safety concerns. The police department emphasized that cooperation between tourists, locals, and authorities is key to maintaining safety in the region.
