New Delhi, 25th March 2026: The Government of India has clarified that there has been no change in the LPG refill booking timelines, dismissing claims circulating in some news reports and on social media about revised waiting periods for different types of LPG connections.

In a statement, the government said it has come to its notice that certain reports and online posts are suggesting new refill booking timelines — 45 days for Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana (PMUY) connections, 25 days for non-PMUY single-bottle connections, and 35 days for non-PMUY double-bottle connections.

Officials clarified that these claims are incorrect and that no such changes have been made to the existing LPG refill booking rules.
According to the government, the current refill booking timelines remain unchanged and are applicable irrespective of the type of LPG connection. Consumers can book a refill after 25 days in urban areas and after 45 days in rural areas.

The government has also urged citizens not to believe or circulate misinformation regarding LPG booking rules. Authorities cautioned that spreading such rumours could lead to unnecessary panic and avoidable refill bookings.

Officials further reassured consumers that adequate LPG stocks are available across the country and that there is no cause for concern regarding supply.

The government reiterated that people should rely only on official sources for updates and avoid sharing unverified information related to LPG services.
