New Delhi, 24th September 2021: You may have to pay a higher price for cooking gas during the festive season. Since the last one week, where the prices of oil have increased in the international market, the prices of LPG cylinders may also increase. Prices can cross 1000 mark.

Crude oil prices have increased in the last ten days. In August, the price of crude oil was $ 74.22 per barrel. Crude oil prices may cross $75 in September. In such a situation, it is believed that if the trend of increasing crude oil prices in the international market continues, then it will have an effect on oil prices. In such a situation, the prices of petrol and diesel may increase in the coming days.

If the price of crude oil and gas in the international market increases, then cooking gas will also be expensive. With this, the government can also completely eliminate the LPG subsidy.

A senior petroleum ministry official said, ”The subsidy can be given only to the beneficiaries of the Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana. At the same time, in the internal survey of the government, it has been accepted that consumers can buy a cylinder of one thousand rupees.”

The ministry has not yet taken any final decision on this. The government can take a decision regarding these that after January 1 this year, the price of LPG cylinder in the capital Delhi has increased by Rs 190.50, while the price has more than doubled since last year. At present, consumers are getting the benefit of subsidy on LPG cylinders in select states of the country. These include Ladakh, Lakshadweep, Andaman and Nicobar, North East states and backward regions of some states. During the financial year 2021 on subsidy, the government has spent Rs 3559 under DBT.
