LT GEN NARDEEP NAITHANI ASSUMES CHARGE AS DIRECTOR & COMMANDANT AFMC
Pune, December 1, 2019: Lt Gen Nardeep Naithani assumed the appointment of Director & Commandant, Armed Forces Medical College, Pune on 01 Dec 2019. The Gen officer is a graduate of the same institution and was commissioned in the Army Medical Corps on 27 Dec 1982.
He has a vast experience of professional, academic and administrative appointments. For his distinguished service the Gen Officer has been awarded the COAS Commendation twice in 1988 and 2015 and Army Commanders Commendation in 2013. He is a physician of repute and has done his Post graduation in Gen Medicine from AFMC. The Gen officer has a rare distinction of having served at AFMC earlier at various capacities.
He was the Prof & Head of the Dept of Internal Medicine in the year 2012-2014. The Gen officer had commanded Military Hospital Wellington and Command Hospital (Northern Command) at Udhampur, J&K. During his Command, MH Wellington was adjudged the best zonal hospital amongst all the other hospitals in Army. The Gen officer had commanded OTC, AMC C&C, Lucknow wherein he was instrumental in formulation of Doctrine on Tactical Combat Casualty Care. Prior to the present appointment, he was appointed as MG Medical, HQ Central Command.
