Maharashtra: 118 Omicron COVID Patient From PMC, 8 From PCMC And 3 From Pune Rural Area Among 133 Reported Positive Today
Pune, 8th January 2022: Today, 133 patients with Omicron infection have been reported in Maharashtra today. Of these, 130 have been reported by Indian Institutes of Science Education and Research and 3 have been reported from Gujarat State.
Details of the cases are as below-

PCMC-8
Pune Rural- 3
Vasai Virar- 2
Ahmednagar and Mumbai- 1 each
Till date, a total of 1009 patients infected with Omicron variant have been reported in the state.
Out of these, 439 cases have been discharged following a negative RT PCR test. The details of international passengers arriving at Mumbai, Pune and Nagpur airports from 1st December till today morning.
Additionally, field surveillance of all international passengers who have arrived since 1st November is underway. Through airport and field surveillance, 3076 samples have been sent for genomic sequencing. Results of 97 are awaited so far.
