Pune: Married Man Pretends To Be Govt Officer, Cheats Many Girls On Matrimonial Website

Pune/Bhor, 8th January 2022: A man from Bhor has been arrested by the Baramati taluka police (Pune rural police) for allegedly cheating many girls through a matrimonial website. He had impersonated as an unmarried government officer.

The arrested person has been identified as Ajay Kumar Nandkumar Chataula. A 39-year-old woman from Mumbai has filed a complaint stating that the accused had physical relations with her after promising to marry her and also cheated her of money.

Accordingly, he was arrested on Thursday. He has been remanded in police custody till January 11.

According to police, Chataula works as a sweeper at the Government Rural Hospital in Rui, Baramati. He used to send requests to the girls on Shaadi.com, claiming them he was a government officer and luring them into marriage, hiding the fact that he was married.

 

Police used to visit the girl’s family and take her for an outing to win trust. He then proceeded to have physical relationships with the girl and rob her saying that he needed money.

Chautala was residing in a room in Bhor with another girl from Pune after defrauding the Mumbai woman, according to the police. As a result, the cops set up a trap for him and arrested him.
