Maharashtra: 3427  fresh COVID patients in Maharashtra, 113 deaths

Mumbai, June 13, 2020: A total of 1550 patients were discharged while 3427 new Covid-19 cases were reported in Maharashtra today. 113 people died due to the deadly virus today. The current count of COVID19 patients in the state of Maharashtra is 104,568, informed State Health Minister Rajesh Tope.

According to the health department, 49,346 patients have been cured while 3830 people have died. As on today, there are 51,379 active cases in the state. The recovery rate in the state is 47.2 % while the fatality rate in the state is 3.7%. Currently, 5,83,302 people are in home quarantine. There are 79,074 beds available in 1580 quarantine institutions and 28,200 people are in institutional quarantine currently.

Out of the 113 deaths today, 73 were men and 40 women. 65 of them aged over 60 years, 38 were from the age group 40 to 59 years and 10 were aged less than 40 years. Information regarding comorbidity status of 10 patients is not available yet. 83 out of the rest 103 patients (80.6%) had high-risk co-morbidities such as diabetes, hypertension, heart disease, etc. Death toll in Covid-19 patients has now gone up to 3830 in the state. Out of the total deaths reported today, 73 deaths occurred in the last two days and the rest are from the period 27th May to 10th June 2020. Out of the 40 deaths in this period, 19 were recorded in Mumbai, 8 in Navi Mumbai, 4 in Solapur, 3 in Thane, 3 in Panvel, 1 was recorded in Kalyan Dombivali, 1 in Pune and 1 in Satara.

Out of 6,41,441 laboratory samples, 1,04,568 have been tested positive (16.3%) for COVID-19 until today. As per the guidance from the Government of India, cluster containment action plan is being implemented in places where clusters of patients have been found in the state.
