Maharashtra: 5318  fresh COVID patients in Maharashtra, 167 deaths

Mumbai, June 28, 2020: A total of 4430 patients were discharged while 5318 new Covid-19 cases were reported in Maharashtra yesterday. Yesterday, 167  COVID-19 deaths reported in the state, Out of these, 86 deaths occurred in the last 48 hours and rest 81 are from the previous period. The current count of COVID19 patients in the state of Maharashtra is 159,133  informed State Health Minister Rajesh Tope.

 

According to the health department, 84,245 patients have been cured while the Case fatality rate in the state is 4.57%. As of yesterday, there are 67,600 active cases in the state. The recovery rate in the state is 52.94% while the fatality rate in the state is 4.57%. Currently, 5,65,161 people are in home quarantine and 36,925 people are in institutional quarantine.

 

Out of the 167 deaths reported in the state yesterday, 86 occurred in last 48 hours and 81 deaths are from the previous period. These include 64 deaths in Mumbai, 5 in Jalgaon, 4 in Dhule, 2 in Ahmednagar, 2 in Nashik, 1 in Vasai-Virar, 1 in Pimpri-Chinchwad, 1 in Jalna and 1 in Latur.

 

 

Out of 8,96,874 laboratory samples, 1,59,133 have been tested positive (17.74%) for COVID-19 until yesterday. As per the guidance from the Government of India, a cluster containment action plan is being implemented in places where clusters of patients have been found in the state.

 

According to the Union Health Ministry, the number of Coronavirus positive patients has reached 528,859 across the country. Out of this, 309,712 have been cured and discharged from hospitals while 16,095 people have died and one patient has migrated out of the country. There are still 203,051 active patients undergoing treatment in hospitals across the country.
