Maharashtra: Army Deployed in Nanded as Flood Situation Worsens, Collector to Review Today
Nanded, 19th August 2025: The Indian Army has been deployed for flood relief and rescue operations in Nanded district after heavy rains inundated several villages. Troops were pressed into action at 11:30 pm on Monday (18 August) to provide immediate support to the civil administration.
An advance column carried out a reconnaissance and situation assessment at Ravaan village yesterday to evaluate risks and requirements for rehabilitation. The situation regarding safety of residents and relief measures is being closely monitored.
The main Flood Relief Column has now moved towards Hasnaal village to obtain a fresh ground update. Nanded District Collector Rahul Kardile is scheduled to visit Hasnaal at 10 am today to review the flood situation. A comprehensive assessment meeting will be held to plan further action.
Officials said the Indian Army remains fully committed to assisting the civil administration in safeguarding lives, providing relief, and expediting rehabilitation for affected families in Nanded.
