Maharashtra Chief Minister appreciates Digital Rural Connect project

Pune, May 26: Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s ‘Digital India’ initiative aims at getting India literate in the digital sector and to reach government schemes more effectively to the citizens of the country. Contributing strong participation in this initiative, the youth of Aurad Shahajani village of Nilanga taluka, Latur district has started Digital Rural Connect Project (DRC) which was recently received appreciation from Honourable Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis during his visit to this village. This initiative was inaugurated by Guardian Minister of the area, Sambhaji Rao.

 

Member of Parliament Sunil Gaikwad, Principal Secretary Praveen Singh Pardeshi, Latur District Officer G Shrikant alongwith Prashant Girbane, Mallikarjuna Shankad, Chandrakant Gastagar, Balaji Patil, Vijay Gujare, Satish Hanegave, Sachin Jadhav were also present on the occasion.

 

Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis during his visit to the center inspected the entire project and also interacted with citizens who were learning and developing their computer skills.

 

With the help of this project the youth aims at increasing the digital connectivity in the village and making the world of Information Technology available for the citizens of Aurad Shahajani village.  Through this project internet cafe and free Wi-Fi facility will be provided to the citizens which will not only benefit the students, women, senior citizens and professionals but will also help farmers in educating them about advanced technology required for farming, weather conditions. Till now 150 people in this region are enrolled in this program.
