Maharashtra Chief Minister Flags Off E-Shivneri Bus Service on Mumbai-Thane-Pune Route
Thane, 2nd May 2023: On Monday, the Maharashtra State Road Transport Corporation (MSRTC) launched its e-Shivneri bus service from Thane to Pune. The launch was marked by an inauguration ceremony attended by Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, who also launched Balasaheb Thackeray clean and beautiful bus station campaign. In addition, famous Marathi actor Makarand Anaspure was named the goodwill ambassador of ST.
The e-Shivneri bus service will begin with eight buses, with a fare of Rs 515 for men and Rs 275 for women. By the end of this week, these buses will be operational for commuters. The Chief Minister also announced the addition of 100 electric Shivneri buses to the Mumbai-Thane-Pune route.
In his speech, the Chief Minister expressed his support for the corporation, saying that the government is committed to its growth and development. He emphasized that the ST is the lifeline of Maharashtra and is expected to provide high-quality, people-oriented services in the current competitive environment. He also praised the corporation for reaching 97% of the population in the state and for its efforts to reduce pollution by introducing electric buses.
