Pune, 11th February 2025: The Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) Class 12 examinations, conducted by the Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education, commenced today across the state. A total of 15,05,037 students from 10,550 junior colleges have registered for the exams, which will be held from February 11 to March 18, 2025 at 3,373 examination centres across Maharashtra.

In Pune’s Bhave High School, students were welcomed with greetings and sweets to help ease their exam stress. Teachers and school staff encouraged them with words of motivation, creating a positive atmosphere before the first paper.

As students arrived at their respective exam centres, a mix of anxiety and confidence was evident. “We have prepared well, but there is always some nervousness before the first paper,” shared a student at Bhave High School. “However, after revising with our teachers, we feel much more confident.”

Another student added, “The welcoming gesture at the school helped reduce our stress. It’s a great way to begin the exam season.”

With a recent rise in Guillain-Barré Syndrome (GBS) cases in Pune, precautionary measures have been advised. Students have been instructed to carry their own water bottles and avoid sharing with others to maintain hygiene.

To ensure a fair examination process, the Maharashtra State Board has implemented strict measures:
Drone surveillance will be used in sensitive exam centres.
District administration teams will inspect facilities to ensure smooth conduct.
Video recording will be done outside exam centres to monitor any suspicious activity.
Flying squads and static monitoring teams will be deployed to prevent malpractice.

Additionally, under the Maharashtra Prevention of Malpractices Act (1982), any individual involved in cheating, assisting, or abetting malpractices will face strict legal action, including non-bailable offences.

With the board taking comprehensive steps to ensure fairness and students starting their exams on a positive note, the Class 12 board examination season has officially begun in Maharashtra.
