Maharashtra COVID report: 14,492 new cases, 297 deaths today
Mumbai, Aug 22, 2020: A total of 9,241 patients were discharged and 14,492 new Covid-19 cases were reported in Maharashtra while 1577 new cases were reported in Pune city today. Today, 297 COVID-19 deaths reported in the state, Case fatality rate in the state is 3.27%. The current count of COVID19 patients in the state of Maharashtra is 6,61,942 informed State Health Minister Rajesh Tope.
According to the health department, 4,80,114 patients have been cured while the Case fatality rate in the state is 3.27%. As of today, there are 1,69,516 active cases in the state. The recovery rate in the state is 71.45% while the fatality rate in the state is 3.27%. Currently, 12,11,608 people are in home quarantine and 35,371 people are in institutional quarantine.
Out of 35,66,288 laboratory samples, 6,61,942 have been tested positive (18.84%) for COVID-19 until today.
According to the Union Health Ministry, the number of Coronavirus positive patients has reached 2,975,701 across the country. Out of this, 2,222,577 have been cured and discharged from hospitals while 55,794 people have died and one patient has migrated out of the country. There are still 6,97,330 active patients undergoing treatment in hospitals across the country.
