Maharashtra DGP Pats Pune Police, Industrialist Pusalkar Donates Rs 50 Lakh For Commendable Work in COVID Pandemic

Pune, September 14: Reforms in the Pune city police force have gained momentum in the last two years. Even during the transition period of the corona outbreak, the Pune police, with their regular duty of crime control, stood as a shield for the health of the people of Pune. The Pune Police, in collaboration with vigilant citizens and social organizations, extended a helping hand to the destitute, weak and vulnerable sections of the society. All these works were today appreciated by Maharashtra Police DGP Subodh Kumar Jaiswal at program held at the police commissioner office in Camp.
Citizens who protect the society are police in plainclothes
Responding positively to the call of Pune Police, every Punekar who comes forward for the protection of the society is police in plainclothes, DGP Jaiswal said.
Token of Gratitude and appreciation
Expressing gratitude to the police force for their tireless work during the Coronavirus disease (COVID19) crisis that shook the entire world, Vijay Pusalkar, a well-known industrialist and chairman of Indo Schöttle Auto Parts Pvt. Ltd., handed over a cheque of Rs 50 lakh to Commissioner Dr K Venkatesham for the welfare of Pune City Police.
Maharashtra Cricket Association president Vikas Kakatkar, Association Committee Member Kumar Tamhane, Pune City Police Joint Commissioner Dr Ravindra Shiswe, Additional Commissioner (West region) Sanjay Shinde, Additional Commissioner (East region) Namdev Chavan, Additional Commissioner Ashok Morale, DCPs Swapna Gore, Pankaj Deshmukh, Suhas Bavche, Sambhaji Kadam, Pournima Gaikwad and Shirish Sardeshpande were also present on the occasion.
Industrialist pledges to support girl education
Expressing his sentiments in the program, Pusalkar said that the COVID pandemic has created an unprecedented situation. “Even in such a difficult situation, the police force is fulfilling its responsibility and it has gone beyond that and shown a sense of social commitment. Even though their lives are in danger, their excellent performance is commendable. I am helping them a little for their courage and bravery. Apart from Rs 50 lakhs for the welfare of the Pune police, I am also taking responsibility for the education of five girls (of police personnel) up to the degree level through my Trust”, Pusalkar announced.
State Director General of Police Jaiswal said that the police force faced various situations during the Corona pandemic. This included a different kind of a curfew, a lockdown, and a sense of social commitment while on duty.

Pune City Police Commissioner Dr Venkatesham also expressed his thoughts on this occasion. He said that a citizen of society is also a policeman. In various social calamities, the police forces are vigilant and protect the citizens.
