Maharashtra: Education Minister Announces SSC, HSC 2021 Exam Schedule

Pune, January 21, 2021:The School Education Minister Varsha Gaikwad announced the examination dates of the Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) and Secondary School Certificate (SSC) examination. The minister has stated that the Std X board’s written examination will be held between April 29-May 31, while the Std XII board’s written examination will be conducted from April 23-May 29.

The ministry also announced that the results of the board examinations will be declared by the last week of July 2021 (HSC results) and August 2021 (SSC results). All the exams will be conducted in compliance with the COVID-19 norms, stated Gaikwad. The practical examination for Std XII will be held from April 1 to April 22. The Std X practical exam will be held from April 9 to April 28.

The board examinations are usually held in the months of February and March for both SSC and HSC. However, this year the examination schedule got postponed because of the COVID-19 situation in the country that has overall pushed the academic year’s conduct in school and colleges.

Meanwhile, schools will reopen for students of Std V-VIII from January 27. The Maharashtra state’s school education and sports department had issued a government resolution announcing the re-opening dates on January 18. The education department has directed all the school authorities in urban and rural areas to ensure teachers’ and students’ safety and that all the COVID-19 norms as instructed by the health ministry and education ministry to be followed properly. Offline classes for students from Std IX-XII had already started on November 23, 2020. The state school education department has stated that students’ attendance has gradually improved in the schools.
