MAHARASHTRA GIRLS TEAM SHINE IN BASKETBALL NATIONAL GAMES

Pune: Team MAHARASHTRA U -14, U-17 and U-19 all reached the FINALS for the basketball national games held in tuticorin Tamil Nadu. U-14 team won Silver whereas U-17 and U-19 won gold for the state. St. Mary’s School Coach Mr. Arun Chopde stood proud for this moment and mentioned, “this as a proudest moment for the school as all the 3 category teams were in FINALS out of which 2 teams won GOLD AND 1 SILVER each representing 3-4 players from St. Mary’s school in each category.”
Rashi Pittie, U-14 Girls category got selected further for the SGFI ( SCHOOL GAMES FEDERATION OF INDIA) which is supposed to be help in December 2019.

The other girls similarly outperformed and got selected for the SGFI in U-17 are SHAMILI ANGAL and ISHANI SRINIVASAN and U-19 is CHAITALI BAFNA from St. Mary’s School.
In total only 4 girls from PUNE through ICSE got selected in each category for the SGFI.The SGIF games are going to be held in the month of December where the team of 12 students representing Maharashtra team would be playing. The U-14 team manager is Mr. Sujit More from Mumbai and the coach for the team is Mrs.Sunayana Swarup from Karnataka under who’s training and supervision these girls will perform for their matches.
The U-19 senior team coach will be Mr. Arun Chopde for the SGFI tournaments again from St. Mary’s School, Pune.Maharashtra Team U-14 won SILVER in this category while U-17 and U-19 girls got GOLD for the state in the national games held in Tuticorin, Tamil Nadu.In total there were 10 students from St. Mary’s alone in all categories representing Maharashtra.
