Pune, 3 April 2021: In view of the ongoing situation due to Covid 19, all state board students across Maharashtra state from Class 1st to Class 8th will be promoted to the next class without any examinations. A decision regarding students of class 9th and 11th will soon be taken, announced Education Minister Varsha Gaikwad.

She added, “We all know the way the number of Corona patients is increasing day by day in the state. In such a situation, as I interact with you today, I will speak in the context of the annual assessment of grades one to eight. In fact, from the first to the fourth standard, we could not start school this year. We started schools from fifth to eighth, but in some places schools started, in some places, we could not start. They could not complete their curriculum even in the places where schools started. But we were constantly trying to reach out to the children through various means and not to harm the child’s education. Also, now looking at Corona’s situation, we have decided to promote students of class first to eighth.”
