Maharashtra: Maratha Morcha Turns Violent, Bus Torched In Jalna

Pune, 26th February 2024: Protestors for Maratha reservation torched a State Transport bus at Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Chowk in Tirthpuri city of Ambad taluka, Jalna District this morning. The demonstrators have been expressing their discontent with the state government regarding Maratha reservation policies.
When approached by Punekar News, Jalna SP Ajay Bansal confirmed the bus torching incident, although he refuted any reports of violence or disturbances in Ambad Taluka. He assured that the situation is under control, with no reported damage to other vehicles or injuries to commuters. He also confirmed that the police is vigilant.
Considering the circumstances and associated risks, MSRTC has temporarily halted bus services in Ambad Taluka until further notice. A video of the bus engulfed in flames has circulated on social media, sparking discussions about the situation in Ambad Taluka.
Recently, activist Manoj Jarange Patil accused Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis of plotting to assassinate him. Chief Minister Eknath Shinde strongly condemned these allegations, stating that Jarange Patil should refrain from testing the patience of the state government with such baseless claims.
