Pune, 17th January 2025: Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan was stabbed multiple times by an intruder in his Mumbai residence early Thursday morning. The actor underwent surgery at Lilavati Hospital and is now reported to be out of danger. Maharashtra Minister of State for Home (Urban) Yogesh Kadam provided key insights into the ongoing investigation. “There is no record of any threats made to Saif Ali Khan. The opposition is attempting to give this incident a different angle,” Kadam stated.

The minister clarified that the suspect detained by the police has no gang affiliations. “The individual entered the house with the sole intention of theft,” Kadam explained. He added that security would be considered for Saif Ali Khan if requested.

Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar also addressed the incident during a media interaction in Pimpri Chinchwad. “Some media outlets have reported a breakdown of law and order in Mumbai without proper verification,” Pawar said. He emphasized that the police have made progress in the investigation, identifying the assailant. “We are investigating how the attacker entered the premises and whether it was purely a theft attempt or if others were involved,” Pawar added. He assured that maintaining law and order in Maharashtra remains a top priority for the government.

As things stand, the police are currently analyzing CCTV footage to identify the attacker, who was reportedly seen near Bandra Police Station after the incident. The investigation has also revealed lapses in security measures outside Khan’s residence. A suspect was detained; however, Mumbai Police have announced that he was not related to the attack on actor Saif Ali Khan.
