Pune: Transgender Individual and Accomplices Assault Two Men in Lonavala

Lonavala, 17th January 2025: Two young men were brutally attacked by a transgender individual and their accomplices near the Varsoli Toll Plaza on the old Pune-Mumbai highway early Thursday morning. The incident, which took place around 1:30 AM, left one of the victims with head injuries caused by a broken beer bottle.

Sumit Ravindra Kadam, 22, a resident of Kusgaon Budruk, Maval, lodged a complaint at the Lonavala Rural Police Station. Based on his statement, police have registered a case against Sagar Ingole, identified as a transgender person, along with three unidentified accomplices.

According to police reports, Kadam and his friend Omkar were traveling by car on the old Pune-Mumbai highway when their vehicle was stopped by the accused at the Varsoli Toll Plaza. The confrontation reportedly began over an alleged incident where Kadam’s car overtook and scratched the accused’s vehicle.

The dispute quickly escalated, with the accused verbally abusing Omkar. When Kadam intervened, he was attacked. One of the attackers struck Kadam on the head with a beer bottle, causing injuries, and both men were beaten with kicks and punches, resulting in multiple injuries.

The Lonavala Rural Police have launched an investigation, but no arrests have been made yet.
