Pune, 25 March 2021: The Maharashtra Transport Commissionerate has fixed the limit for training the number of people at motor driving schools. According to which a trainer can now teach only 25 people in a day. The decision has been taken to improve the driving quality of the people. It is expected that it will curb the crowd for driving training, and the quality of training will improve.

Motor driving schools have imparted scientific training to make people good drivers. However, in many places, three to four trainees are taken in a batch. So they don’t get enough time. Also, the concerned trainee is awarded Driver Training Certificate (Sample 5) and Fuel Saving Certificate (Sample 5A) after undergoing training in Motor Driving School. The proportion of motor driving school instructors and trainees is inappropriate. It has become clear that the number of trainers is less than the number of trainees.

Therefore, Maharashtra Transport Commissionerate has decided to impose restrictions. Now only 25 candidates should be trained by one trainer. If a training institute has a separate vehicle and trainer available only for giving Form 5A, then a maximum of 30 certificates can be issued in such cases. This decision will be implemented on May 1, 2021.

“Regional and sub-regional transport offices (RTO) should inspect driving schools in their area of responsibility. They should review the available vehicles and trainers. After that, the number of daily certificates should be fixed,” said Dr. Avinash Dhakne,  Transport Commissioner.
