Maharashtra Police Website Updated With ‘transgender’ Option, Following Bombay HC Order

Mumbai, 12th December 2022: In response to the Bombay High Court’s decision on December 9, to add the ‘transgenders’ option to the online application form for hiring police constables, the police website has been updated accordingly.

 

With this, transgender people in Maharashtra will be able to formally apply for police recruitment.

 

The website for police recruitment is policerecruitment2022.mahait.org.

 

The recruitment is to be done for the posts of police constables and police constable drivers. The deadline for applications is December 15.

 

According to police sources, a total of 18,331 police constables will be hired in the state, with 8,000 of them recruited for Mumbai.

 

According to a press release from the state’s DGP for Training, Sanjay Kumar, published on Monday (December 12). Transgender people can now apply for the positions.
