Maharashtra: Pune, Mumbai on Alert as IMD Issues Weather Advisory for Multiple Districts

Mumbai, 25th November 2023: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) Mumbai has issued a weather advisory predicting low-intensity thunderstorms accompanied by lightning and gusty winds (30-40kmph) in several districts of Maharashtra.

The advisory, issued at 13:00 on 25th November, covers a range of districts including Ahmednagar, Aurangabad, Beed, Dhule, Jalna, Kolhapur, Mumbai, Mumbai Suburban (Navi Mumbai), Nandurbar, Nashik, Osmanabad, Palghar, Pune, Raigad, Ratnagiri, Sangli, Satara, Sindhudurg, Solapur, and Thane.

The weather event is expected to occur on 26th November at 08:30, affecting one or two places within the listed districts. The IMD has specifically warned of low-intensity thunderstorms, the possibility of lightning, and gusty winds ranging from 30 to 40 kilometres per hour. Residents and authorities are advised to exercise caution and stay updated on the latest weather developments.
