Maharashtra Secures Record Rs 15.75 Lakh Crore Investments at WEF 2025; 16 Lakh Jobs Opportunities To Be Created

Mumbai, 23rd January 2025: Maharashtra took the spotlight at the Indian Pavilion during the World Economic Forum in Davos, signing MoUs worth an unprecedented ₹15.75 lakh crore with global companies. These agreements are expected to generate 15.98 lakh job opportunities in the state, Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis announced. Expressing gratitude to the people of Maharashtra, he said it was an honor to represent the state on the global stage.
The Chief Minister revealed that 61 MoUs were signed, including 54 for investment and seven for strategic collaboration.
Maharashtra: The Data Center Capital of the Future
Highlighting the potential of Maharashtra as a hub for data centers, CM Fadnavis referred to data as the “new oil” and predicted rapid growth in the sector. Speaking virtually from Davos, he shared insights into the state’s vision for economic development, while Industry Minister Uday Samant participated in the session from Mumbai.
The CM began by paying homage to Hinduhrudaysamrat Balasaheb Thackeray on his birth anniversary and expressed his appreciation to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for allowing Maharashtra to represent India at the forum alongside six other states.
Unified India Approach for Global Collaboration
During a ‘Country Dialogue’ session, CM Fadnavis joined the Chief Ministers of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana to showcase India as a global investment destination. The leaders highlighted their states’ strengths, development initiatives, and future opportunities. Fadnavis also presented Maharashtra’s success in water conservation programs, such as the Jalyukt Shivar Abhiyan, emphasizing the state’s dedication to sustainable growth.
65% Investment Implementation Rate
Fadnavis emphasized Maharashtra’s robust investment implementation record, stating that 65% of promised investments have been successfully executed. He also noted that 95% of last year’s MoUs, signed under then-CM Eknath Shinde, have already been implemented.
Leadership in AI and Green Energy
Maharashtra is prioritizing advancements in Artificial Intelligence (AI) and innovation, with plans to establish an Innovation City in Navi Mumbai. The state is also focusing on solar, green, and clean energy to drive sustainable development.

CM Fadnavis credited Industry Minister Uday Samant and the entire state team for their relentless efforts in achieving record-breaking investment figures.
