Maharashtra SET 2026: SPPU to Conduct Assistant Professor Exam on July 26
Pune, 29th May 2026: Savitribai Phule Pune University (SPPU) will conduct the State Eligibility Test (SET) for the post of assistant professor on July 26. The university is conducting the examination after a gap of one year, as the previous SET examination was held on June 15, 2025.
As per the prescribed norms, the SET examination is expected to be conducted at least twice a year. The upcoming examination will be the 41st edition of the SET.
The examination will be conducted at centres in Mumbai, Pune, Kolhapur, Solapur, Ahilyanagar, Nashik, Dhule, Jalgaon, Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, Nanded, Amravati, Nagpur, Chandrapur, Gadchiroli, Ratnagiri, Parbhani, Nandurbar and Panaji (Goa).
Candidates can submit their online application forms through the university’s official website between June 2 and June 16.
University officials clarified that candidates who have already qualified for the SET examination in a particular subject will not be permitted to appear again for the same subject.
The list of candidates who have successfully paid the examination fee is expected to be published on the university website in the second week of July. Students whose names do not appear on the list despite completing the fee payment process will have to submit proof of payment to the university via email.
