The Maharashtra State Board for Secondary and Higher Secondary Education had decided to conduct the SSC examination from April 29 to May 20th while the HSC examination from April 23 to May 21. However, a couple of days ago the minister announced that both the SSC and HSC examinations have been postponed to June and May last week respectively.

The State board director also confirmed that the SSC and HSC examinations will be held no matter what are the circumstances.

As many as 16 lakh students will be appearing for SSC while 14 lakh students will be appearing for HSC examinations for the year 2020-21.

“Every board is autonomous and has the freedom to decide about their examination schedule. We do prioritize the health of the students but examination is a necessary parameter for the students. Thus, we are thinking of conducting the examination off-line”, said Dinkar Patil.
