Maharashtra Tourism Department To Organize 20 Tourism Festivals

Pune, February 4, 2021: The Maharashtra State Directorate of Tourism will organize 20 tourism festivals in Konkan, Pune, Nashik, Aurangabad, Amravati, and Nagpur divisions. The festivals will be held in February and March to boost tourism in the State.

 

The tourism festivals include the Grape Harvesting Festival in the Nashik district, the Nandur Madhmeshwar Festival, the Kajve Festival in the Bhandardara area of Ahmednagar district, and the Laling Fort Festival in Dhule district. The Wai Festival will be held in the Satara district, while the Panhala Festival in the Kolhapur district.

 

People can also enjoy and have a great experience at the Junnar Grape Festival that will be held in the Pune district.

 

In the Konkan region, tourists will get the opportunity to enjoy the Vengurla (Sagareshwar) Festival in Sindhudurg District, Shrivardhan Festival in Raigad District, Katalshilpa Festival in Ratnagiri District, and Velas/Anjarle Festival.

 

The Aurangabad division has also decided to organize festivals that include 13 festivals in the Osmanabad district, Kapildhara festival in the Beed district, and hotel festival in Nanded district.

 

In the Amravati division, the Sindkhed Raja Festival will be held in Buldhana district, the Narnala Fort Festival in Akola district, while the Tipeshwar Sanctuary Festival will be organized in Yavatmal district.

 

The Nagpur division will also organize different festivals during the same period. These include Ramtek Festival in Nagpur district, Bor Dam and Wildlife Festival, and Bodhalaksa Bird Festival in Gondia district.

 

The State government aims to bring lesser-known places on the tourism map of Maharashtra.

 

“Now that the situation is slowly returning to normal, Maharashtra is gearing up to welcome tourists. The forthcoming festivals provide an opportunity to travel the State. We appeal to tourists to join the festivals with the aim of understanding Maharashtra. The State has a great cultural heritage. Tourists will get a chance to see this heritage and beauty of the State through these festivals,” said Dhananjay Sawalkar, Joint Director of Maharashtra Tourism.

The festivals will be organized by the regional offices of the Directorate of Tourism with the help of the local district administration.
