Maharashtra Witnesses Increase In Booster Dose Recipients Amidst Increasing Covid Cases Abroad
Pune, 24th December 2022: In Maharashtra, the uptake of booster doses increased on Friday to over 6,000 from just over 3,000 the day before due to the recent Covid case surge in a few nations, particularly China. Only 500 people in the state had chosen to receive the third dosage of the vaccination as of Monday.
According to CoWIN, 6.71 crore people in Maharashtra are still to receive the third or booster dose of the Covid vaccine, which is given to everyone over the age of 18.
Health professionals emphasized the requirement for greater booster dose coverage to provide crucial protection against the new Covid variant, BF.7, which is responsible for the sharp increase in cases in China.
