MahaRERA Announces Four-Month Project Deadline Extension Due to West Asia Conflict
Mumbai, 7th August 2026: The Maharashtra Real Estate Regulatory Authority (MahaRERA) has announced a blanket four-month extension for all registered housing projects across Maharashtra in view of the ongoing conflict in West Asia.
The extension will automatically apply to all housing projects whose original, revised or previously extended completion date falls on or after February 28, 2026.
Promoters will not be required to submit separate applications to avail of the extension, as the extension will be granted automatically.
MahaRERA’s decision follows directions issued by the Union Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs to all Real Estate Regulatory Authorities (RERAs) across the country, asking them to provide a four-month extension to housing projects impacted by disruptions arising from the conflict in West Asia.
The conflict has affected global supply chains, resulting in shortages of key construction materials and creating significant challenges for the real estate sector. Acting on the Centre’s directive, MahaRERA has issued the order granting the blanket extension.
