Major Accident Of Indrayani Express Averted As Alert Trackmen Spot Rail Fracture
Kalyan, 6th September 2022: A major accident was avoided today by the alertness of two On-Duty trackmen. At around 6:35 am, Heera Lal (26) and Mithun Kumar (23) noticed a rail fracture near Patripul, Kalyan on the down-fast line.
As soon as they saw Indrayani Express 22105 approaching with speed, Mithun immediately ran towards the train with a Red signal and stopped the train in time. On the other hand, Heera Lal kept an eye on the site.
As per Central Railway’s press note, the work of the restoration process including making the track safe for traffic was completed at 7.15 am.
“Due to their prompt and vigilant patrolling and action, a major mishap has been averted. Their work is appreciable”, the press release states.
