Pune: Heavy Rain In Some Parts Of Maharashtra On Ganpati Immersion Day

Pune, 6th September 2022: As the favourable environment for monsoon rains is being created again, there is a possibility that the intensity of rain will increase again in the state. The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted heavy rain in parts of South Konkan, West Maharashtra and Vidarbha on the day of immersion.

Light to moderate rains with thundershowers is likely at some places in Marathwada along with this region for the next two to three days.

Since last week, the state has been witnessing rain in some isolated areas including Vidarbha. During this period, a large increase in maximum temperature was recorded due to clear skies in most areas. Due to this, the heat of the sun increased during the day and the heat at night increased.

There will be a change again in these two to three days. A low-pressure area with monsoon rains is likely to approach central India again. Similarly, vapours will come from the Bay of Bengal as well as from the Arabian Sea. As a result, the Indian Meteorological Department has predicted that the intensity of rain will increase in various parts of Maharashtra from September 8.

Heavy rain is likely in some parts of Konkan from September 8. A warning of gusty winds has also been given during this period. In Madhya Maharashtra too, there is a possibility of torrential rains in the ghat sections during this period. In Marathwada, heavy rain is predicted at some places with thunder and lightning, Vidarbha will also receive rain in most parts.

Sindhudurg, Raigad, and Ratnagiri districts of Konkan are likely to experience heavy rain in some areas on September 8 and 9. Heavy rains are also expected in Nagar, Kolhapur, Satara, Hingoli, Nanded, Bhandara, Chandrapur, Gadchiroli, Yavatmal and other districts during the same period.

Rain is also predicted in Pune, Parbhani, Solapur, Beed, Osmanabad, Chandrapur etc. Moderate rainfall is expected in Mumbai, Thane, Palghar etc.
