Major Action Against Illegal Gas Cylinder Storage and Transportation – Seizure of Rs 35.72 Lakh in Pimpri Chinchwad
Pimpri Chinchwad, 1st February 2024: In a significant operation conducted by the Food and Civil Supply Office at More Wasti, Chikhali, substantial action has been taken against Mama Gas Service Agency for illegal storage and transportation of gas cylinders. The Food and Civil Supply Officer, Dadasaheb Gite, reported that goods amounting to Rs 35,73,545 have been seized as a result of the raid on Wednesday.
The operation resulted in the confiscation of four large vehicles, 105 gas-filled cylinders, and 602 empty cylinders from Hindustan Petroleum Company. The accused, Bhikchand Hiralal Katre, has been detained in connection with this illegal activity.
A case has been registered against Katre under Sections 420, 285, and 286 of the IPC, along with Sections 3 and 7 of the Essential Commodities Act 1955 and Sections 3 to 7 of the Liquefied Petroleum Gas (Regulation of Supply and Distribution) Order, 2000. Food and Civil Supply Zone Officer Sachin Kale, Supply Inspectors Snehal Gaikwad, Amol Hade, and Police Sub-Inspector Dattatray More, among others, were involved in carrying out this action, as informed by Dadasaheb Gite.
