Malegaon: CBI Arrests SBI Deputy Manager In Bribery Case

Pune/Malegaon, 21st May 2021: The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has today arrested a Deputy Manager (Scale-II), State Bank of India, Malegaon Main Branch, District Nashik (Maharashtra) for demanding and accepting a bribe of Rs 10,000 from the complainant.

A case was registered on 20.05.2021 against a Dy. Manager (Scale-2)/ Processing Officer, State Bank of India, Malegaon Main Branch, District Nashik, on the allegations that the accused demanded Rs 80,000 as illegal gratification from the complainant for releasing the payment of his commission bills. It was further alleged that the complainant (a Home Loan Counsellor) was doing the work of sourcing home loans for customers in the said bank for which he was getting the commission of 0.30% of the loan amount.

CBI laid a trap and caught the accused while accepting the bribe of Rs 10,000 from the complainant. Searches are being conducted at the residential premises of the accused.

The arrested accused Malai Kanchan will be produced before the Competent Court.
