Man shot dead for snatching AK47 from RPF

Pune, June 15 – Suresh Purohit (31) from Rajasthan was shot dead by Railway Protection Force (RPF) constables at Saswad railway station on Wednesday early morning at 4 am. Saswad is about 40 km from Pune.

According to information given by RPF, Purohit tried to enter the engine of Mahalaxmi express train and so the driver told him to go and gave emergency horn. 4 RPF constables came running to help. Purohit beat up two constables with stone in which they got seriously injured. While the third constable fired with rifle after Purohit snatched weapon of another constable.

Purohit was then immediately brought to Sassoon hospital where he lost his life while undergoing treatment. RPF has lodged FIR at Pune Government Railway Police (GRP).

RPF also came to know late night that Purohit had murdered his wife in Rajasthan and had run away from there to Pune.
