Manasi Kirloskar inspires students with her special address on ‘New Age Startups Eco System’
The dynamic and young biz icon, Manasi Kirloskar, Executive Director, Kirloskar Systems Ltd., was a special guest and speaker at the BITS Pilani APOGEE 2018 event, last week, on 25th February. She shared her thoughts in a Keynote session on the theme “New Age Startups Eco System” with some of the brightest minds not only in India but globally at BITS Pilani. “Today, many startups have achieved success that is unparalleled and unprecedented. Startups and their young successful founders stand for innovation and disruption, which is relevant for every business to stay competitive. India has amazing advantages of having tremendous potential for startups because of huge market, entrepreneurial mindset and rapid increase in people attempting startups. As a result, India has today emerged as the world’s third largest startup ecosystem, after China and the US”, Ms. Kirloskar elaborated. She explained how assets, services and expertise are areas of disruption wherein startups are taking India by storm.
Post her Keynote session Ms. Kirloskar visited the Inspired Karters on the BITS Pilani Campus where the students built and exhibited automotives. The students explained how the mission of their team is to build an open wheel open cockpit, formula type racecar, bound by certain rules, studied around the driver and driven by the team’s sheer love for motorsports. Ms. Kirloskar mentioned that it was interesting to understand from the students the efforts put in to make a better automotive driven by their passion. Inspired Karters is the Formula Student team of Birla Institute of Technology and Science, Pilani campus, currently designing the 5th version of their dream.
