26th December 2023: In a significant development within the Indian automotive sector, Maruti Suzuki, the country’s largest car manufacturer, has officially declared its entry into the electric vehicle (EV) market with the impending launch of its first electric car. Although the official name is yet to be disclosed, speculations indicate that it might be introduced as the Brezza EV. The eVX, or the potential Brezza EV, was unveiled as a concept at the 2023 Auto Expo, showcasing a forward-looking design characterized by a sleek roofline, expansive wheel arches, and LED lighting.

The interior of the eVX is anticipated to mirror its stylish exterior, featuring a spacious cabin with a large touchscreen infotainment system, comfortable seating, and an array of high-tech features. Under the hood, the electric vehicle will be equipped with a robust 60 kWh lithium-ion battery pack, providing an impressive range of up to 550 km. The dual-motor setup is expected to deliver around 200 bhp, ensuring swift acceleration and a pleasurable driving experience.

While the official price of the eVX or Brezza EV is yet to be disclosed, industry estimates peg it in the range of Rs 20 to 25 lakh. Reports hint at a potential launch between October and November of 2024 or in January 2025. The modern interior is poised to offer a spacious and premium feel, featuring ambient lighting and a panoramic sunroof. High-tech features may include wireless charging, connected car technology, a digital instrument cluster, and a head-up display.

The eVX’s futuristic design will be complemented by EV-specific elements like a closed-off grille, blue accents, and aerodynamically optimized alloy wheels. Fast charging support is anticipated, enabling rapid charging from 0 to 80% in a few hours. The dual-motor setup promises remarkable acceleration and on-road performance, making it an appealing choice for EV enthusiasts. Advanced safety features, including multiple airbags, ABS with EBD, Electronic Stability Control (ESC), a 360-degree camera, Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS), speed limiter, and driver attention monitoring, contribute to the overall safety and convenience of the eVX.
