26th December 2023: As the year draws to a close, Royal Enfield brings forth a piece of good news, proudly announcing that their bike, the Royal Enfield Himalaya 450, has clinched the prestigious Indian Motorcycle of the Year Award for 2024. This accolade reaffirms Royal Enfield’s dominance in the market, showcasing why they have maintained their stronghold for numerous years. Amongst a competitive field, the Himalaya 450 emerged as the best bike in its segment, solidifying its reputation as a trailblazer in the industry.

The Royal Enfield Himalayan 450, an adventure bike designed for off-roading and versatile use, has captivated enthusiasts with its striking aesthetics, particularly appealing to the Indian youth. Available in four variants, the base model comes with an on-road price of Rs 3,11,881 lakh in Delhi, reflecting its exceptional value for money and contributing to its IMOTY 2024 triumph.

Equipped with a range of features, the Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 boasts a 4-inch TFT instrument console, smartphone connectivity, Google Map integration, an Integrated Navigation System, helmet communication device connectivity, ride modes, and essential metrics like speedometer, odometer, and tachometer. The heart of the bike lies in its 452 cc liquid-cooled single-cylinder BS6 engine, delivering 40PS of power at 8,000rpm and 40Nm of torque at 5,500rpm, coupled with a 6-speed gearbox, offering a top speed of 141 km/h.

Addressing the crucial aspects of suspension and braking, the Himalayan 450 features a robust setup with a 43mm inverted Fox suspension at the front and Sonu Shop gas suspension at the rear. The braking system includes a 320mm front disc brake and a 270mm rear disc brake, ensuring reliable stopping power. In the Indian market, the Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 faces competition from bikes like the Triumph Scrambler 400X, solidifying its position in a highly contested segment.
