Matka den in Sangvi busted by PCMC Commissioner, elected representatives

Pimpri, June 19, 2020: Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) Commissioner Shravan Hardikar accompanied by Mayor Usha alias Mai Dhore, senior leader Namdev Dhake and other  corporators during the site inspection visit stumbled upon a matka den in Sangvi on the river bank, which was operating in full public view.The top brass of the PCMC was on an official pre-monsoon tour of various areas when their sight fell on the den.

The elected representatives said that the Matka den was visible to everybody except the police. The team members went straight to the den and found people gambling. The culprits fled  from the spot upon seeing the state authorities and left their belongings like chits and cash. Dhake demanded complete crackdown on criminals operating Matka den.

Mayor Dhore directed to administration regarding deployment of measures for pre-monsoon drainage clean-up and sanitation in order to protect the public health. She also visited various places to review pre-monsoon drainage clean-up activities and other work. She visited Pimple Gurav, Pimple Saudagar-Datta Mandir, Pimple Nilakh-Shikshak Colony, Gaothan, Wakad Gaothan, Saikar Chawl Surya Hospital which comes under D zonal office and Landewadi Nana-Mhasoba Mandir, Mahatma Phule Nagar, Shankar Mandir, Kasarwadi, Phugewadi, Dapodi, Old Sangvi, New Sangvi under H zonal office to inspect pre-monsoon work. The mayor directed to concerned officers regarding the pre-monsoon clean-up work.

The delegation included Leader of Opposition Vitthal alias Nana Kate, D Ward president Shashikant Kadam, H Ward president Ambernath Kamble, Corporator Harshal Dhore, Santosh Kamble, Sagar Angolkar, Tushar Kamthe, Rahul Kalate, Nilesh Barne, Asha Dhaygude-Shedge, Mai Kate, Sharda Sonawane, Seema Chowgule, Madhavi Rajapure, Usha Mundhe, Nirmala Kute, Aarti Chaundhe, Rekha Darshale, Ashwini Waghmare, Hon. Additional Commissioner Santosh Patil, Hon. Assistant Commissioner Ashadevi Durgude, Sandeep Khot, Sitaram Bahure were present.
