MD Worth Rs 14.6 Lakh and Firearms Seized in Crime Branch Operation in Pune, Two Accused Arrested

Pune, 29th November 2024: In a major crackdown, the Anti-Narcotics Squad 02 and Anti-Extortion Squad 2 of the Pune Crime Branch seized Mephedrone (MD) worth ₹14.6 lakh and recovered a country-made pistol with live rounds from two suspects in the Faraskhana police station area.

The operation was led by Police Inspectors Vijay Kumbhar and Sudarshan Gaikwad, with assistance from Assistant Police Inspector Nitin Kumar Naik and other officials.

The arrested persons have been identified as Bobby Bhagwat Suravase, 28, a resident of Laxmi Nagar, Yerawada, Pune, and Tosim alias Laddu Rahim Khan, 32, residing in Kasba Peth, Pune. A case has been registered at the Faraskhana Police Station. Further investigation is being carried out by Assistant Police Inspector (API) Nitin Kumar Naik.

The Pune City Police Commissionerate has intensified its vigilance against drug trafficking and illegal weapons. This operation demonstrates the city’s commitment to cracking down on criminal activities, ensuring public safety.

The action was taken under the guidance of Police Commissioner Amitesh Kumar, Joint Police Commissioner Ranjan Kumar Sharma, Additional Police Commissioner (Crime) Shailesh Balkawade, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Crime) Nikhil Pingle and Assistant Police Commissioner (Crime 2), Rajendra Mulik.
