Pune Police To Launch ‘Operation Muskan – 13’ to Trace Missing Children and Women

Pune, 29th November 2024: The Pune Police will roll out a month-long campaign, ‘Operation Muskan – 13,’ from December 1 to December 30, aimed at locating missing children and women across the state. The initiative is part of a statewide effort to combat human trafficking and recover missing individuals.
As part of this operation, the Anti-Human Trafficking Unit (AHTU) under the Crime Branch of the Pune Police will form dedicated teams. Additionally, every police station in Pune will establish specialized units comprising a senior police inspector, an assistant inspector, and three constables to intensify the search for missing persons.
Coordination between police stations in Pune and other regions will play a critical role in the campaign. The primary focus will be on tracing minor children and women above 18 years of age who have been reported missing from Pune city and its surrounding areas.
Speaking on the campaign, Police Commissioner Amitesh Kumar stated, “Operation Muskan – 13 is a robust initiative that prioritizes the search for missing persons throughout the year. The campaign aims to intensify efforts and achieve significant breakthroughs in locating missing children and women.”
The police have emphasized the importance of the campaign, likening their efforts to a war-like operation to combat human trafficking and reunite families with their loved ones.
