MHADA Extends Application Deadline for Pune and Pimpri-Chinchwad Flats Amid Ganeshotsav and Office Holidays

Pune, 28th September 2023: In light of the overwhelming response and logistical challenges faced by citizens, the Maharashtra Housing and Area Development Authority (MHADA) has extended the application deadline for its housing lottery in Pune and Pimpri-Chinchwad. The announcement comes after 32,000 citizens have already applied for a total of 5,863 flats available under various schemes. The new deadline for applications is now set for October 20.
Ashok Patil, Chief Officer of MHADA’s Pune Division, disclosed this information during a press conference. Initially, the last date to apply was September 28. The housing lottery includes 403 flats under the general housing scheme, 431 flats under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, 344 flats under the 15% social housing scheme, 2,445 flats under the first-come-first-priority scheme, and another 2,445 flats under the 20% comprehensive housing scheme. Online applications for these flats commenced on September 5.
Patil elaborated, “Applicants are required to submit essential documents like residence certificates, income proofs, and reservation certificates if applying under a reserved category. Due to the Ganeshotsav festivities and government holidays, many citizens faced delays in obtaining these certificates. In response to numerous requests for an extension, the committee overseeing the lottery has decided to extend the deadline to October 20.”
Revised Draw Schedule:
- Last date for online registration: October 20
- Deadline for Online Payment and Deposit Acceptance: October 21
- Draft Application List for Draw Release: October 27
- Final Application List for Draw Published: November 3

The extension aims to accommodate the difficulties faced by applicants in completing their documentation and to ensure a fair and inclusive process for all.
