Minister Shambhuraj Desai Gives NHAI a Deadline to Fix Pune-Bengaluru Highway Potholes
Satara, 6th August 2024: Guardian Minister of Satara, Shambhuraj Desai, has issued a stern warning to the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI), demanding that they repair the potholes on the Pune-Bengaluru National Highway by 15th August or face legal action. The increasing number of potholes has caused significant inconvenience to travelers and led to minor accidents on the highway. Recently, the Indian National Congress party held a protest highlighting the poor condition of the road.
A meeting was convened yesterday at the Satara District Collector’s Office to address the critical situation of the Pune-Bengaluru National Highway. Guardian Minister Desai, along with Satara District Collector Jitendra Dudi, Satara Zilla Parishad Chief Executive Officer Yashni Nagarajan, Superintendent of Police Sameer Shaikh, Additional Collector Jeevan Galande, Resident Deputy Collector Nagesh Patil, and NHAI officials, participated in the discussion.
Minister Desai emphasized that if the NHAI fails to address the pothole issue by the 15th of August, he will initiate legal proceedings. He stressed the importance of maintaining the road in good condition to prevent accidents and suggested that the NHAI arrange a separate meeting with Traffic Branch officials.
