Minor Accident Near Lonavala Causes Heavy Traffic Jam On Pune-Mumbai Expressway
Pune 9th Sept 2023: Heavy traffic jam was reported on the Pune-Mumbai Expressway on Saturday evening as many vehicles moving towards Pune remained stranded for a long time. According to locals, the vehicles were piled up upto 10 kilometers on the expressway towards Pune.
The police officials said that an accident was reported near Khandala Ghat at around 6 am in which a person sustained minor injuries. However, this led to heavy traffic jams on the road as the rescue teams took time to remove the vehicle from the road. Due to good rainfall reported on Saturday and weekly off on Sunday, many people are travelling to their favourite destinations in lonavala and adjoining areas to enjoy nature with their family and friends. However, since many tourists decided to travel by their own cars, the number of vehicles on the expressway was increased causing traffic jams.
