Minor Girl Death in Baramati: Police Investigation Finds No Evidence of Foul Play

Baramati, 26th August 2026: The mystery surrounding the death of a minor girl, whose father works as the personal assistant to NCP (SP) leader Rohit Pawar, has been resolved, with police concluding that she died by suicide. Police said their investigation found no evidence of foul play.

The girl died on August 23, following which questions were raised about the circumstances surrounding her death. Police launched a detailed investigation after fractures were found on her hands and legs.

According to Additional Superintendent of Police Ganesh Biradar, investigators examined the scene, CCTV footage and the post-mortem report as part of the probe.

Police said the girl left her home and reached a five-storey building in the Sainagar area of Rui. CCTV footage reportedly showed her entering the lift at around 9:58 pm and travelling to the upper floors. At around 10:01 pm, CCTV footage allegedly showed her jumping from the building.

Investigators also found that after reaching the terrace, the girl had closed the staircase door from the outside. Her slippers were found on the terrace, police said.

“Based on the CCTV footage and other evidence collected during the investigation, it has been established that the girl died by suicide. No suspicious circumstances have been found in the case,” Add SP Ganesh Biradar said during a press conference.

The post-mortem examination found multiple fractures, with doctors determining that the injuries sustained in the fall caused her death.
Police said all relevant aspects of the case were examined during the investigation and no evidence suggesting foul play was found.

Sub-Divisional Police Officer Chetan Kadam, Baramati City Police Inspector Shreeshail Chivadshetti and Baramati Rural Police Inspector Narayan Pawar were present at the press conference.
