Passenger Alleges Assault, Phone Snatching by Ticket Examiner After Corruption Complaint
Nagpur, 26 August 2026: software engineer has alleged that a ticket-checking staff member on train 58206 (Nagpur-Raipur Passenger) intimidated him and snatched his phone after he complained about alleged corruption and bribery during his journey on August 24.
Aniket Gupta alleged that the staff member confronted him after his complaint and forcibly took his phone. He also claimed that the official made remarks suggesting that repeated complaints against ticket-checking staff do not lead to action.
Gupta shared videos of the alleged confrontation and identified the staff member as “Alok Pandey”. He also referred to RailMadad complaint number 2026082507452, which he said was closed despite his allegations.
The videos show a confrontation inside a sleeper coach involving passengers and a ticket-checking staff member. The allegations made during the exchange could not be independently verified.
The Divisional Railway Manager, Nagpur, South East Central Railway, acknowledged the complaint and said the matter had been forwarded to the concerned department for inquiry and necessary action.
No official confirmation has so far been issued on the identity of the staff member, the outcome of the inquiry or any disciplinary action.
The matter remains under railway investigation.
