Nagpur, 30th June 2026: A minor girl who was found alone under suspicious circumstances at Nagpur Railway Station on the night of June 28 was reunited with her guardian after the Railway Protection Force (RPF) completed the required verification and legal formalities.

According to the RPF, Head Constable Narendra Chauhan, while on duty at around 9:00 pm, noticed the girl sitting alone near the Itarsi end of Platform No. 8. During preliminary questioning, she was unable to provide satisfactory information about herself or her circumstances. She was then taken to the RPF Police Station at Nagpur for her safety and further inquiry.

At the police station, Assistant Sub-Inspector B. D. Ahirwar conducted an inquiry in the presence of Woman Constable Shireen Hussain and Childline representative Vicky Dahare. During the interaction, the girl disclosed that she had left home following a family dispute and had reached the railway station with the intention of travelling to Mumbai.

The RPF subsequently contacted her family, following which her guardian arrived at the police station. After verifying the guardian’s identity and relationship with the child, and confirming the girl’s willingness to return, the matter was reported to the Child Welfare Committee, Nagpur.

Acting on the directions of the Child Welfare Committee, the RPF completed the prescribed verification and legal procedures before handing over the minor girl to her guardian through a formal handover memorandum.
