MIT Institute of Design students bag multiple awards

Pune, 30th March, 2017. MIT Institute of Design, a premier centre for Design education situated in Pune is flourishing with a fresh bunch of talented students.  The students across various departments of Design are getting recognized for their talent and skills success under the supervision and guidance of their mentors. The students of MIT Institute of Design are trained to craft different aspects of modern design & applying it in their live projects too. The students have recently won many accolades at different national level competitions. Here’s the list of awards and recognition won by the talented students of MIT Institute of Design.

 

TEDxDelft Award

Mileha Soneji – a product design student at MIT Institute of Design is the winner of the TEDxDelft Award for creating simple hacks for people with Parkinson’s. She has designed ‘The Staircase Illusion’ and ‘No Spill Cup’ as the solution for people with tremors and Parkinson’s.

 

 

 

Adobe Design Achievement Awards

Sneha Mehta and Tanuj Thomas Abraham – product design students, have won the Adobe Design Achievement Award for the packaging solution provided in a grinder bottle. The bottle contains whole spices, making sure they retain 100% of their flavour and safeguarded from adulteration.

 

 

1st prize for vehicle design at the Auto Expo 2016

Gaurav Nandi – final year PG Transportation Design student won the 1st prize at the Automotive Design Challenge contest. The contest was organized by SIAM (Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers’) and the prize was announced at the 10th SIAM Styling & Design Conclave held during the Auto Expo 2016 at Greater Noida.

Gaurav designed a 4 wheeled explorer vehicle for the scientists to explore and for research purposes for the planet Kepler 186f. The planet is 490 light years away and his vehicle E.X.T.R.O.S.S-extra terrestrial over surface scanning system is grown in the planet itself, rather than taken from earth as a whole.

 

 

 

Pune Design Festival Award

Ratul Upadhyay and Nilanjan Chakravarty -the students of Communication Design, have grabbed the PDF’16 Student Design Award for their Four Pedestals App. The app is designed for experiential design elements, interface and seamless integration with the physical space. The process involved intricate study of UX/UI, material design and practicing Design Thinking and Design Sprint methodologies.
